Hevo can replicate your Google Adwords' data to your data warehouse using Google's AdWords API. Make sure you have a Manager Account (not advertiser account) since Hevo can only connect to AdWords APIs using a managerial account. Learn more about AdWords manager accounts here.
Let's walk through the steps for adding Google Adwords as a source.
1. Create Pipeline
Click on PIPELINES option in the left navigation bar and click on Create New Pipeline.
2. Select Source Type
Select Google Adwords from the list on Select Source Type Screen.
3. Authorise Hevo to Access
You need to add your Google Account first. Click on Add New Account. You will be taken to Google to login and asked to authorize us. The permission which we are looking is to view and manage your AdWords campaigns which would make calls to the report service (read-only calls) to pull reports.
You can read more about these permissions here.
4. Configure Google Adwords Source
You need to configure some basic details like:
Source Name: A unique name for your Google Adwords Source.
Customer ID: The client customer ID is the account number of the AdWords client account you want to manage via the API, usually in the form 123-456-7890. You can find your customer ID here.
5. Configure Reports
Report Type: Select all the reports you want to import. You can refer this to chose the right report type.
Reporting Fields: The reports would contain all the selected fields as columns.
6. Select the Destination
Select the Destination where you want to replicate Google Adwords data or click on NEW DESTINATION to create a new Destination. Check out How to add a Destination tutorial for the detailed walk-through on steps needed for adding new Destination.
7. Pipeline Created
Your Pipeline will be created when you enter this page and you will have an option to Map Schema.
While Hevo tries to load your schemas, you can select CONTINUE IN BACKGROUND if it is taking too much time. Click on CREATE SCHEMA MAPPING to map Source and Destination Schemas, check out Introduction to Schema Mapper to learn about Schema Mapper or you can select DO IT LATER to directly head to Pipeline page. You can map schemas later on Schema Mapper page in your pipeline.
Please note that your data will not start replicating in Destination tables until you map source and Destination schemas.
