Hevo lets you load your Facebook Ads Insights data into your data warehouse using Facebook’s Marketing API. Let's walk through steps for adding Facebook Ads as a source.
1. Create Pipeline
Click on PIPELINES option in the left navigation bar and click on Create New Pipeline.
2. Select Source Type
Select Facebook Ads from the list on Select Source Type Screen.
3. Authorise Hevo to Access
You need to add your Facebook Account first. Click on Add New Account. You will be taken to Facebook to login and asked to authorise us. The permission which we are looking for includes:
Access to Facebook ads and related stats.
Access to your Page and App Insights.
You can read more about these permissions here.
4. Configure Facebook Ads
You need to configure some basic details like:
Source Name: A unique name for your Facebook Ads Source.
Ads Account: It represents a business, person or other entity who creates and manage ads on Facebook. Select the Ads account associated with your Facebook account you’d like to pull data from.
Ads Action Report Time: Determines the report time of action stats. For example, if a person saw the ad on Jan 1st but converted on Jan 2nd. If you select `impression`, you will see a conversion on Jan 1st and if you select `conversion`, you will see a conversion on Jan 2nd.
Ads Breakdown: It is used to group the Insights results into different sets. You can check the details here.
Fields: Fields which you want in the report. A complete list of all possible fields can be found here.
Note: Not all combinations of Ads Breakdown and Fields would work. For more information on this, please refer the Facebook documentation here.
5. Select the Destination
Select the Destination where you want to replicate Facebook Ads data or click on NEW DESTINATION to create a new Destination. Check out How to add a Destination tutorial for the detailed walk-through on steps needed for adding new Destination.
6. Pipeline Created
Your Pipeline will be created when you enter this page and you will have an option to Map Schema.
While Hevo tries to load your schemas, you can select CONTINUE IN BACKGROUND if it is taking too much time. Click on CREATE SCHEMA MAPPING to map Source and Destination Schemas, check out Introduction to Schema Mapper to learn about Schema Mapper or you can select DO IT LATER to directly head to Pipeline page. You can map schemas later on Schema Mapper page in your pipeline.
Please note that your data will not start replicating in Destination tables until you map source and Destination schemas.
