Object and Schema Management

Last updated on Sep 27, 2024

Edge Pipeline is currently available under Early Access. You can request access to evaluate and test its features.

Objects represent the entity that Hevo ingests from your Source system. The entity can be a table, collection, or report, based on the type of Source.

Once you configure the Source, Destination, and Pipeline settings while creating a Pipeline, the Objects Configuration page displays the objects available in your Source. Child objects are also listed separately for selection. For example, suppose the Order object contains Order_Items and Order_Delivery child objects. Then, these are listed as three separate objects.

You can select the objects that you want to replicate to the Destination in the Object Configuration page. By default, no object is selected. You can also change your selection post-Pipeline creation.

Read Managing Objects in Pipelines for more information on selecting objects and fields for replication.

Mapping the Source Schema to the Destination

Once you have selected the objects for replication, Hevo creates and manages all the schema mappings between the Source and Destination for you. Further, you can specify the schema evolution policy that it must use to handle any changes arising in the Source schema post-Pipeline creation.

Read Pipeline Schema Management for more information on how schema changes are handled by Hevo.
