Alerts (Edge)

The Alerts and Notifications system in Hevo Edge provides you with visibility into the different stages of data replication by your Pipeline and other steps taken by Hevo based on your actions. The alerts are contextual and include actionable steps to help ensure reliability, minimize downtime, and reduce manual monitoring while also providing you with time-critical information for decision-making and issue resolution.

Hevo sends an alert whenever something requires your attention or intervention. By default, the alerts are displayed on the Alerts slide-in page. You can also opt to receive them via email and Slack.

The Edge alerting system categorizes the alerts into:

  • Critical: These alerts contain details about incidents that affect the proper functioning of your Edge Pipelines and require action from you to address the issue.

  • Warning: These alerts contain details about non-vital incidents, such as a skipped job, and in most cases, do not require action from you.

The following tables contain the list of alerts sent by Hevo:

Alerts Type: Critical

Job Failures Notify when a job is not completed successfully. Pipeline Jobs
Job Completed with Failures Notify when a job is completed, but some of the objects have not been processed successfully. Pipeline Jobs
WAL Monitoring Notify when the Write-Ahead Log (WAL) size exceeds the threshold value ( % )configured in the Pipeline. PostgreSQL Sources

Alerts Type: Warning

Name Description Entity
Job Skipped Notify when a job is skipped. Pipeline Jobs
Job Latency Notify when a job’s maximum latency exceeds the set threshold latency value. Pipeline Jobs
Pipeline Deleted Notify when a Pipeline is deleted by any user in the team. Pipelines
Pipeline Disabled Notify when a Pipeline is disabled either by any user in the team or by Hevo.

Note: Hevo may disable a Pipeline in the following scenarios:

- The WAL size in your PostgreSQL Source exceeds the specified threshold value ( % ).

- The Pipeline remains in a Failed state for seven days.
