Connecting Redash to Hevo

Starting Release 2.20, the Hevo Managed BigQuery Destination is available only to users who have existing Pipelines with it. If you need to reauthorize or change the Google account in your existing Pipeline, you must contact Hevo Support.

Refer to this section to connect Redash to your managed BigQuery data warehouse.

Prerequisites

  • An active Redash account.

  • Redash connection settings downloaded from Hevo.


Steps

  1. Log in to your Redash account.

  2. In the Settings page, Data Sources tab, click + New Data Source.

  3. In the Create a New Data Source dialog, search for and select BigQuery.

  4. In the Create a New Data Source page, specify the following:

    Note: The values provided in the image are indicative.

    1. Name: A suitable name for your BigQuery data warehouse.

    2. Project ID: The project ID mentioned in the Redash connection settings downloaded from Hevo

    3. JSON Key File: Click to upload the JSON file having the login credentials, which you downloaded in Hevo.

    4. Processing Location: The dataset-location provided by Hevo. For example, us-east1.

  5. Optionally, modify the other field values.

  6. Click Create.

  7. After Redash successfully validates your entries, click Save.

  8. Use the Create menu to create SQL queries and dashboards and start visualizing your BigQuery data.
