Google Campaign Manager

Note: This connector is in BETA phase. In case your use case is not supported, or if you find an issue, please inform Hevo support.

Google Campaign Manager (DoubleClick Campaign Manager or DCM before rebranding in July, 2018) is a web-based ad management system for advertisers and agencies. It provides the set of tools for managing digital campaigns across websites and mobile devices. Specifically, you can:

  • Manage creatives and run ad campaigns via Trafficking

  • View performance data for ads trafficked through Campaign Manager via Reporting

  • Check the overall behavior of your ad impressions in Campaign Manager’s Verification tab

You can replicate data from your Google Campaign Manager account to the Destination database or data warehouse using Hevo Pipelines.

For creating Pipelines using this Source, Hevo provides you a fully managed BigQuery data warehouse as a possible Destination. This option remains available till the time you set up your first BigQuery Destination irrespective of any other Destinations that you may have. With the managed warehouse, you are only charged the cost that Hevo incurs for your project in Google BigQuery. The invoice is generated at the end of each month and payment is recovered as per the payment instrument you have set up. You can now create your Pipeline and directly start analyzing your Source data. Read Hevo Managed Google BigQuery.

    GCM Settings

    • Pipeline Name: A unique name for your Pipeline.

    • User Profile: The Campaign Manager profiles that you want to sync with Hevo.

    • Report Type: The type of report you want to generate. This can be Standard, Reach, or Floodlight. Read[] Report Types]({:target=”_blank”}.

    • Dimensions: One or more dimensions that the report must include. These are displayed based on the Report Type you selected in the preceding step.

    • Metrics: One or more metrics that the report must include. These are displayed based on the Report Type you selected.

Note: Only the metrics compatible with the selected Dimensions are enabled for selection.

  7. Click TEST & CONTINUE.

  8. Proceed to configuring the data ingestion and setting up the Destination.

Data Replication

Hevo starts ingesting your data from 12 a.m. of the day when you create the Pipeline.

If reports are already present in your Google Campaign Manager account prior to creating the Pipeline in Hevo, they are fetched based on profile ID, report type, and the authentication account that was set up when configuring the Google Campaign Manager Source, instead of Dimensions and Metrics.

Data Model

The following is the list of tables (objects) that are created at the Destination when you run the Pipeline.

Note: A unique __hevo_id is created as a hash of Report ID, Profile ID, Date, and a collective hash of all dimensions that are present in the report. This is done for both existing and custom reports created using Hevo.

Table List of Metrics List of Dimensions Description
STANDARD List List Custom report with standard parameters.
REACH List List Reports that show an estimate of how many unique users have interacted with your ads.
FLOODLIGHT* List List Floodlight use a basic attribution model to provide conversion reports which include aggregated data on the basis of Custom Floodlight Variables apart from generic variables other than dimensions and metrics.
